Our story
Born from a Belief That Every Child Deserves Better
Navasangama Charitable Trust was founded in 2012 by a group of educators, social workers, and community leaders who refused to accept that geography and poverty should determine a child’s future.

How it all began
How It All Began
In 2016-17, our founder Shri Manu P S visited a cluster of villages in Chikkaballapur District and found that nearly 40% of children between the ages of 10 and 14 had dropped out of school — not because they lacked ability, but because their families could not afford books, uniforms, or the loss of a child’s daily labour.
He returned to Bengaluru, gathered a small group of like-minded individuals, and within a year, Navasangama Charitable Trust was registered. The name itself says everything: ‘Navasangama’ means ‘new confluence’ — a coming together of people, resources, and hope to create something new.
Fourteen years later, we have reached over 2,400 children across 48 villages in Karnataka. But the work is far from done.
A former schoolteacher turned social entrepreneur, Ramesh spent 15 years in rural Karnataka before founding Navasangama. His philosophy is simple: change happens one child at a time, and every child counts.
Our vision
“A Karnataka where no child’s potential is limited by the circumstances of their birth.”
Our mission
To remove barriers to quality education for underprivileged children in rural Karnataka through direct support, scholarships, and community-led learning centres — with full accountability to our donors and the communities we serve.
What guides us
Our Values
Accountability
Every rupee is tracked. Every child’s progress is documented. We publish annual reports and welcome scrutiny.
Community First
We do not impose solutions. We listen, partner with local leaders, and build programmes that communities own.
Long-term Thinking
We invest in children for years, not months. Education is a journey, and we walk it with each child.
Dignity
Every child and family we work with is treated with respect. We are guests in their lives, not saviours.
